Introduction

This page has some notes about parking at Launa Kai.

Parking Spaces at Launa Kai

There are over a hundred parking spaces at Luana Kai. A few are assigned for specific vehicles or reserved for vechicles with disabled driver parking permits. (Note that Hawai'i allows you to bring and use your home state disabled driver parking permit while visiting the islands.) The rest are unassigned.

You will need to register with the front desk to obtain a parking tag (it costs $5) that will allow you to park in any of the unassigned parking spaces. If the front desk is closed when you arrive, please register when it opens the next morning. Please use exactly one slot when you park.

The parking spaces are adjacent to Building C and Building B. Depending on when you are trying to park, you may have to use a parking space that's a lot nearing Building B than parking spaces near units in Building C. Sorry.

As with just about everywhere in Hawaii, parking space is at a premium in south Kihei. To prevent unauthorized cars from occupying parking spaces, the Luana Kai Owners' Association is pretty aggressive with towing parked vehicles without parking tags. This is part of the reason why it is usually possible to find a parking space at Luana Kai (although it may not be ideally located).
