Travel Insurance in the time of COVID-19
Introduction
Travel insurance (usually for cancellation but also for other emergencies that can occur while traveling) has always been available. In this time of COVID-19, cancellation is suddenly on the minds of many travelers. Travel insurance for cancellation because of COVID-19 is available. Many travelers find it surprisingly affordable - often about or less than the cost of a single COVID-19 test.
You might be interested to know that we have had zero cancellations because of positive test results. That, of course, is not guaranteed to continue indefinitely into the future.
You are still responsible for taking the COVID-19 test and getting the results before boarding your flight. As far as we know, this cancellation insurance won't kick in if your test facility simply does not deliver results in time. We don't know what to do about that risk other than to choose a reputable test facility - and perhaps have a "Plan B" in place.
NOW: If you stay with us a week or longer, we will split the cost of COVID-19 cancellation travel insurance with you up to $ 50 per week.

Please note that you need to have made a reservation before using this site.
(Unless you are only a few days ahead of the arrival date when you make the reservation,
booking sites - AirBnB, VRBO, airlines, and so forth - typically give you 24 or even 48 hours
of no-cost cancellations so you have an opportunity to reserve all of the components of your trip.)
You will need to know the booking date, the travel dates, and all non-refundable costs.
- Visit the squaremouth site then select the "Start a New Search" button.
- Enter the trip departure date and return date. Your "Main Destination" is "United States". Click on "Continue to Step 2".
- Enter your age and, using the "+ Add" button, the age of all other travelers. Click on "Continue to Step 3".
- Ensure "Include Cancellation Coverage" is "Yes". Enter the total non-refundable trip cost. Enter the trip booking date. Indicate whether you've paid in full or have payments remaining. Click on "View Search Results"
- You should select "Coronavirus Pandemic" from the filters. If there are other travel insurance benefits that you want, you should check those filter items, too. Scan through the policies looking for the cost, underwriter, and ratings/reviews that work for you. Review the "Full Policy Detail". When satisfied with your selection, click on "Buy Now".
Quite frankly, we hope the money spent on travel insurance turns out to be only for peace of mind. We want you to be able to travel to Hawai'i and enjoy the "Maui experience."
